EOY 2011
As SimplyAware moves into its 9th year of service, Fayne and I continue to be astonished at the blessings we receive from our family, friends and even total strangers who show up in our lives when we need them most. We know in our hearts the love we share each week in our classes is greatly appreciated. As we close out another year, we feel it it important to pause and feel grateful for the gifts of 2011, then look ahead and feel hopeful for the opportunities of 2012.
Our first Qigong Workshop of 2012 will be hosted on January 28th by the Dallas Meditation Center - Please CLICK HERE for more information.
Our 8th annual World Tai Chi & Qigong Day event is still under development but we are planning a special morning of celebration and free Tai Chi and Qigong workshops. More to come soon!
With love and deep gratitude, The Bouguyon Family

A look back at our family in 2011:
Early in the year we said goodbye to 11 years of Cub Scouting at Pack 1200 as Galen graduated into Boy Scouts to begin his scouting adventures with Kamin and Jaden by his side. We then said goodbye to Kimberlin Academy where, for 12 years, we helped guide all three of our boys through Elementary School. So many wonderful memories for us to cherish and deep gratitude for all the support we had along the way from teachers, mentors and friends.
I was elected to the National Qigong Association's Board of Directors, for a three year term, and am very excited to be serving this wonderful community of Qigong professionals and practitioners. In addition, I am still working on the Training Mindfully with Qigong Principles Workbook Series as well as creating a training workbook for my Smiling Heart Qigong Program for assisted living communities.
Fayne and I just finished an interview for a new television program called Turning Point. They asked to profile our journey together before and after the creation of SimplyAware, highlighting turning points along our path. This is a truly inspirational project we are grateful to be invited to support.
Fayne and Kamin had a marvelous, month long "Road trip adventure” to California exploring colleges, visiting close friends, camping and bonding all along the way. Truly, memories to last a lifetime.
For the second year running, Kamin was invited to the Boy Scouts of America National Office, as one of three youth leaders, to teach the Regional NYLT Course Director’s Training. This training course is offered to adult scout leaders from Southeast US Region who are hosting National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) courses in their home districts.
Jaden celebrated his Bar Mitzvah in the middle of a treacherous ice storm. Even though the roads were almost impassable, we still had 60 people brave the elements to come share in his special day. Having invited over 200 people, Jaden took it all in stride and made the most of what had been offered to him. A true sign of maturity which made Fayne and I very proud.
Galen has recently become the first Scout in his class to get his First Class Rank. This past summer, he spent a week at Camp Constantin Boy Scout Summer Camp with Fayne & Jaden where they watched a tornado sweep dangerously close to the camp. Then Galen spent three and a half weeks at Greene Family Camp where he met, fell in love with and adopted the newest member of our family - A Pot Bellied Pig we call, Kevin Bacon. Life as we know it, will never be the same. Please, if you are considering a cute, cuddly pot bellied pig for a pet, come by for a spell. That should cure you of such a silly notion. Imagine with me for a moment, a creature having the energy and curiosity of a toddler, the strength and appetite of a starving teenager and the stubborn streak of a 200 year old man and voila! you have our dear Kevin.
In addition, we also took in two more Ball Python rescues - Zena and Zeus. They were very hungry and scared when they came to us and are slowly getting used to being handled and cared for. So if anyone is keeping count, we are at 2 cats, 5 snakes and one pig...oh and thousands of laughs!
Our family is working on a Children’s book called “The Adventures of Kevin the Pig” with the hope to have it ready for distribution near the end of 2012. That is if we can stop laughing long enough to finish it...
In the meantime, live love and laugh every chance you get!
Here is to a wonderful 2012 for us all!
