In Memory of Paul Rottman

Born September 23, 1921 - Passed away February 24, 2009

Paul was a student of mine for over a year at CHRISTUS - St. Joseph's Village in Coppell but the first time we met was actually some 20 years back when he and his close friend Austin (also at St. Joe's) used to come into my family's restaurant in Casa Linda. We all had a good chuckle and realized how small the world truly is when that bit of memory came shining through. Paul's gentle nature, bright smile and wonderful sense of humor helped make our Smiling Heart Tai Chi class very special. Paul and I shared several personal conversation in which he talked with me about some of the difficult challenges he faced in his life, however, when he spoke of his wife and 10 children, I could see his eyes and heart light up with joy. I often found myself more grateful and appreciative of my family after our time together. Paul, thank you for sharing so much of yourself with me. Your strong sense of family and kind, patient nature will continue to serve as deep inspiration to me on my life's journey. My heart is fuller for having known you and my spirit is grateful for the gifts we shared together in our Smiling Heart Tai Chi class. Be well and God's Speed dear Paul, you are missed.
